Unlike last year when relentless heat caused the ceremony to be moved indoors, this year’sĀ Carroll Independent School District graduation went off without a hitch.
All 562 graduates seemed to enjoy the moderate-90s weather as they made their way across the stage for their diplomas, and the new video scoreboard on the field offered the chance for families to display personal messages for their graduates. The near-capacity stadium was a much more casual affair than last year’s ceremony at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, and parents and teens stuck around for nearly an hour taking pictures and celebrating the end of the school year.
Seniors also enjoyed an all-night, drug- and alcohol-free graduation party at Main Event inĀ Grapevine. After a lengthy period of AP tests and final exams, a safe, overnight extravaganza seemed to be the perfect way to end the year.
Again, we are so proud of every Southlake graduate, and it was an honor to sponsor the graduation ceremonies. We hope that every single young one enjoys this time and the next step in their personal lives and academic careers. Cheers, Southlake!
